Splitting of the hospital charge in sectional rates is due to the difference in nursing that each patient requires. Our guideline in nursing intensity is the Barthel-Index.

When cost-intensive medical therapies or strategies, that are not included in our calculations, (e.g. chemical therapy, blood transfusions, X-ray-examinations) are required, cost will be billed seperately.

If the in-patient treatment does not exceed five days, we issue a seperate invoice for initial diagnosis and treatment, as listed in the billing procedures for German private physicians (GOÄ).

Methods of payment

We request you to make a downpayment of 2.000,- Euro when starting your treatment. Please send us a cheque, transfer the amount to our bank account or have us withdraw it. The remainder is due on leaving the clinic. When your stay lasts longer than more than a few weeks, we issue a partial invoice.

The Klinik am Steigerwald is

  • a privately owned hospital, which is federally recognized according to § 30 GWO, issued 11.12.1995 by Landratsamt Schweinfurt.
  • Its purpose is clinical treatment as a medical necessity as described in § 39 SGB V (Social state law).
  • an "integrated institution", Category 2a. Its legal status is defined by the Association of Privately Owned Hospitals (registered association) and described in § 4, 5th paragraph MB/KK. "Integrated" means, that predominantly medically necessary treatments are performed, as opposed to institutions that offer a exclusively spa-oriented therapy. The category 2a was assigned 24.07.1998. Spa-treatments offered in the Klinik am Steigerwald are limited the dietary cure according to F.X.Mayr.
  • Federal Assistance for German state officials is granted according to § 6 and § 7 of the German Federal Assistance Law. The relevant letter of grant is dated 13.01.1997.
